David snapped out of his gaze and shook his head, "What the hell...?"

Imre turned to look at him as he rose up. "Wait!"

David started backing up. She has the same eyes as me... She's one of them... "I don't know what the hell is goin' on, but I got what I came here for. I'm outta here." David took off in the opposite direction.

Imre sighed in irritation, "Wait!"

David came running out towards the direction of the jeep. Jumping over the hood of the car, he kept running. Shit... Are they back? How? I thought they were defeated... David stopped running and took refuge behind an alley wall. Oh no. Stark was right. They are coming back....

He took off again, shooting out of the alley. David slightly grinned to himself. Stark's gonna be pissed...

He heard the distant hum of a car. Are they following me? David turned around, covering his eyes from the blinding headlights.

The car came to a screeching halt in front of David's legs. "Kid!" a voice came. "Get yer butt in here!"

David smiled, "Doc."

----

Imre sighed heavily, then kicked her bike in irritation. She hadn't expected him to run like that...

Even after I saved his life. Jumpy little-- Her thoughts were interrupted by the jeep tearing off after the swiftly retreating figure, and the sound of rapidly approaching sirens.

"Guess that means I better go, too,"she said, and with that, she hopped back on her bike, following the jeep at a discreet distance. "There has to be some way to salvage this situation."

----

David slumped himself in the backseat, crushing Jim and Sonia long before he even realized it. Doc kept his foot on the gas pedal, not taking a moment to glance back at David. Now that he was back, it was time to leave as fast as possible.

After 10 blocks of pure speed, Doc halted at a red light. Not quite fuming, though irritated from the look upon his face, he turned around and nearly grabbed David. "What the hell were you tryin' to pull?"

David didn't respond. He shifted slightly to help out the others in the back seat with the spacing. Doc turned around and sighed. "You could have put us all in a lot of trouble." The light turned green and Doc was back to being a speed demon.

Jim cleared his throat. Up until now he had been up-chuck boy. For once, he was calm which was more of a shock to Doc than anyone else. "David, what are you doing man? You couldn't wait for those pills could ya?"

David gave a slight nod. "You'll never change on me," Jim replied.

Doc's B-line home was interrupted. He took a sharp right down an alley. The crew in the back shifted upon Sonia for a moment. "Doc, where are you going?" Jim being the only speaking voice in the back was shot a glance.

Doc pointed behind Jim and turned around. Jim, Sonia, and David turned around and saw a vehicle not to far off. "Been following us since we left. I suggest you buckle your seatbelts. This is going to be one hell of a ride."

----

Hmmm, Imre thought. Looks like I got lost.

Both the jeep and the car she'd been following had vanished into the night. She decided it was well past time to check in with her commanding officer, so she pulled up to a gas station and pulled out her cell. "Come on, pick up already,"she muttered, impatient.

"Yes?" Lomac barked.

"Orrin checking in, sir,"she said. Where is General Gordon? she wondered.

"Have you achieved your objective yet?"

"Almost, sir. There have been a few delays."

"No excuses, Orrin. We need results now...or need I remind you of the consequences?"

"No sir,"she sighed. "I won't fail you." The only answer was a click as the line went dead. Loser, she thought as she once again wondered whether she was on the right side. Fortunately, she still had a few plans of her own...

----

David sighed with irritation, turning back around in his seat he said, "actually I couldn't have waited for the pills.... I could have had a seizer right now and slip into a coma. No one knows how long the effect of the pills last. It can be a day or a week."

Doc looked back over his shoulder as he sped down the road. "You still shouldn't have did that kid. You could have gotten killed."

"And you shouldn’t be driving with out a seatbelt on cause you can get killed if another car rams into us. Either way you have to be careful right? I was careful. I’m alive aren’t I?"

"It's not that same thing.” Doc turned sharply, almost rear-ending another car.

“Who cares right now!” Jim cried. “Let’s just get away from here!”

“What's it look like he’s doing Jim?” Sonia pushed him off her as Doc rapidity sped up again.

“Where’s Stark and Angie?” David turned around to see behind him.

“They went out looking for you. Hey, did we lose ‘em yet!?” Doc made a u-turn and started to drive down a one way street.

“Uh...” Jim sat up and peered at the back window with Dave. “I think so.”

----

Stark gazed out of the window, starring blankly upon the rows of houses. True he was searching for David and there was something else upon his mind. A double duty call for Stark. Angie was carefully driving around. They had spent the past hour up and down the streets, finding nothing. The numerous homes and the same scenery became an
instant bore. Stark bolted his head up once he heard the sirens. Angie sped up for a moment and halted in front of a hospital. The place David had gone.

Stark jumped out of the car and ran up to one of the police officers, with badge in hand. "This area is off limits sir." The officer lifted up a hand, but Stark placed his badge up next to it.

"I'm Major Stark, with the government. What happened here?"

The officer removed his hand and scratched his head. "Don't know. No one was a witness to the accident, and there have been no suspects confirmed." Stark nodded his head, and felt a small weight being lifted off his shoulders. "You need help with something?"

Stark eyed the officer. "No. My partner and I were on our way and noticed this accident. We just had to make sure everything was all right."

"Yes sir. Doing fine. No injuries to report, and it appears to be that nothing important was stolen."

Stark nodded his head, turned around and sat back in the car. Angie drove off before the officer said a word to the two. Again he scratched his head and turned back towards the hospital.

"David got out all right?" Angie asked.

"Looks like it. Hopefully Doc got to him in time."
