"I'll go look for him..." Angie offered and
stood up, heading for the staircase.
"David? Is everything alright? We--David!!" She hurried up the first
stairs and was just in time able to catch the young man's limp form. Carefully
she leaned David, who stared at her with glassy eyes, against the wall- as she
touched him she noticed that he was shivering.
"Any problems, Angie?" Doc called from downstairs.
"Yes, it seems that..." Angie started, but stopped as David hold up
his hand.
"No... that's not necessary... I'm okay..." he said weakly and tried
to manage a smile, although did not succeed in it.
"But..." Angie protested.
"Please..." David looked at her nearly pleadingly.
Angie sighed, but shouted quickly "Everything is alright here.." down
to the others. Carefully she let go of David, who was still shivering, but
seemed to have regained some of his senses.
"I need to drive to hospital one more time... I forgot something
there.." he said and slowly went downstairs.
"Getting some more pills?" Angie asked, a hint of worry in her voice. It
seems that he feels more worse than he admits in front of us...
David nodded. "No need to worry... I was just feeling a bit dizzy..."
he added as if to calm down his friend. "Thanks for not making a fuss about
it..."
"You're welcome..." Angie smiled, though David's condition was making
her nervous. She had to remember the dying man at the hospital Iris had showed
them. Although she was by nature a rather fearless type, the horrifying death of
the man had not only been disgusting but had also shocked her- although she
never would have admitted that in front of Phil or Doc. As a member of TFAO you
couldn't show any weakness- much less fear, she knew, but the idea of one's life
being dependent on some pills and the way the man at the hospital had died, made
her afraid somehow. She wondered how David could cope
with his situation.
She made her way back to the living room, though couldn't get the picture of the
last, horrible expression in the dead man's eyes out of her head- and even less
the way David had looked and acted some minutes ago...
The man had shivered the same way David did just
now... I just hope that Iris can help him...

Well hidden in the misty clouds of Venus, a red scorpion ship faded in and out
of the dust. It was Dragit for sure, but who really knew how long he had been
there. Ever since the attack upon the Moon Base, things turned for the worse.
So many plans destroyed in just a matter of days. Years of work forever gone all
because of a young boy. Dragit's grand-nephew (to be exact). Now, it was
Dragit's turn. A chance for revenge to ensue in every way, shape, and form.
He planned for much to take place. Each idea became superior to its predecessor.
Dragit sat in his quarters, alone. None of the lights were on. Complete
darkness...his personal preference.
A faint light flickered at his side. Dragit turned to a com-orb and answered the
call. He was given the formal greeting by General Gordon.
"I give you greetings, Dragit."
"I return your greetings...This had better be good news." Dragit's
face grew stern, but Gordon kept his stature.
"It is, sir. Both the assassins and the purification projects are working
perfectly."
"Excellent."
"We shall be expecting you soon then, sir?"
"...Yes, it is easy to presume so. Besides, I always must take time out to
visit family."
"Yes, Sir. Gordon out."
----
David limped to the front door. He could feel the
group's eyes on him as he proceeded out the door.
"Wait!" Stark called after him.
"Hmm?" David glanced back.
"You can barley walk yet alone drive. I'll take
you." Stark grabbed his coat and followed David out to the garage. As soon
as they entered the car, Stark was out of the driveway and on their way to the
hospital.
They were in silence on the way up and a couple of
times David caught Stark about to say something, but he fell quiet once more and
the rest of the way up.
----
"What pills?" Sonia suddenly spoke up. She
had been quiet for the longest time, but her curiosity got the best of her.
"Uh.." Doc broke out of his stare and cleared
his throat. "That's right. You weren't there when Iris explained it to
us."
Sonia looked at him with a blank face.
"Doctor Iris Evans has been David's Doctor for the
last seventeen years of his life." Doc explained.
"and the only one besides us who knows of his
alien side." Angie added.
"So what does she have to do with it?" Sonia
asked.
"Iris supplies David with these pills. The pills
are the only thing that keep David from slipping into a coma. I don't think he
takes them everyday, only when he starts to have little seizers where he will
start shaking a tad." Angie continued.
“She said it has somethin’ to do with how he was
born.” Doc went on. “That some nerves where missing in his brain that caused
this.”
“But I’m half alien. Why don’t I have it?”
“I don’t know kid. Maybe cause it only happens to
some or maybe it’s because you were born around Tyrusian technology. They
could have fixed it with you and Simon.” Doc leaned back on the couch.
----
“We’re here.” Stark parked the car fairly close
to the hospital doors. “Can you walk?”
“Yeah.” David opened the passenger’s side door
with slow movements. When his feet hit the ground, he started to wobble.
Stark rushed over and picked him up, with a stained
grunt, and carried him inside.
“I can walk ya know.” David protested.
“Kid, from what I see, you can’t even stand.”
Once inside, Stark carried him over to the front desk
where Ilene poked her head up, “What happen?” She stood up from behind her
desk.
“Just get Iris.” Stark placed David down on a seat
nearby and waited for Iris to come.
***
Stark sat next to David. He was silent and still. The
seizures seemed to have lapsed for the moment, but there was no telling when
they would start up again.
Iris rounded a corner. Stark stood up and greeted the doctor. "What is it
now?" She appeared to be quite exhausted. Her hair was tasseled, thrown
about in a neat mess.
"It's David. We're having a slight problem." Iris looked over at
David, sitting quietly in the chair with his hands folded in his lap.
"Follow me." Iris turned around and left the waiting room. Stark gave
a hand to David, helping him up and walk after Iris, down the many winding
corridors of the hospital. The reached a door at the end of a hallway. Iris'
office.
Iris held open the door as Stark helped David in and down into an awaiting
chair. Iris seemed a bit more tense now than before. Stark could tell easily
whenever someone was uncomfortable. Iris had something to say, and it was not
going to be pretty.
